Roberts Gray Architects is a practice shaped by the collective experience of our directors which was formed in diverse contexts and challenging sites across Aotearoa New Zealand, the United States, Australia, and the Netherlands.

Common to all projects is a desire to experiment with architecture’s enduring qualities and conventions while designing buildings and public spaces that are generous and accommodating of life.

The pursuit of these qualities requires our work to be broad in scope and approach, and realised through a design process that is open and conversational.

Our understanding of architecture as a cultural practice is reflected in the contributions that other disciplines, people,and places bring to each project. Shared authorship is made possible by the network of creative collaborators and clients we work with to promote an architecture that consistently imagines possibilities beyond the brief.
